Today's "metalcore" seems more influenced by 'pop punk' then actual punk.

I like Deathcore but that band I posted is terrible. I think the Aussie scene is a lot better than the US/UK one.

I feel like you and I like very different deathcore, I can't quite decide if I like this a lot or not at all. Going to have to check out later.

We like some of the same bands (ADTR. BMTH) but yeah the two scenes are quite different.

Aussie scene seems to have more grind influence and be a bit more chaotic.

A bit. The Red Shore is a pretty stand-out band over there though. Lots of the bands have more of a hardcore influence while still focusing on teh br00t4ls.

I think WBtBWB just made my list of awesome bands with shit names. That was very very cool, ever since I got into Asking Alexandria and I Set My Friends on Fire I've really been digging the use of electronics in core, just been having trouble finding any more good bands that do it.

Carpathian are now on my watch list btw I'm definitely going to look into them more.
